A safra 2011 confirmou exatamente aquilo que eu esperava de um Grand Cru clássico da Borgonha. Não surpreendeu, nem decepcionou. E isso está longe de significar falta de qualidade. Pelo contrário, entregou com precisão tudo aquilo que se espera de um grande Pinot Noir de Gevrey-Chambertin.
A cor já mostrava delicadeza, sem qualquer excesso de concentração. Os aromas eram tipicamente borgonheses, com frutas vermelhas ainda muito presentes, acompanhadas por discretas notas de evolução. Em boca, a acidez vibrante sustentava o vinho do início ao fim, sempre perfeitamente integrada, sem qualquer aresta. Os taninos, já polidos pelo tempo, envolviam o conjunto com textura sedosa.
Após cerca de quinze anos, este Grand Cru demonstra a elegância que tornou a Borgonha célebre. Não é um vinho de força, mas de tensão. Sua energia não se manifesta pela potência, e sim pela firmeza silenciosa com que permanece vivo em cada taça
The 2011 vintage delivered exactly what I expected from a classic Burgundy Grand Cru. It neither surprised nor disappointed—and that is far from a sign of mediocrity. On the contrary, it expressed with remarkable precision everything one hopes to find in a great Pinot Noir from Gevrey-Chambertin.
Its delicate color showed no excessive concentration. The bouquet was unmistakably Burgundian, with vibrant red fruits still at the forefront, complemented by subtle tertiary nuances that reflected its graceful evolution. On the palate, lively acidity carried the wine seamlessly from beginning to end, perfectly integrated and without a single rough edge. Time had polished the tannins into a silky texture that enveloped the wine with effortless elegance.
After nearly fifteen years, this Grand Cru beautifully demonstrates the elegance that has made Burgundy world-renowned. It is not a wine of power, but of tension. Its energy is expressed not through sheer intensity, but through the quiet confidence with which it remains vibrant in every glass.
